The popping began in 2005 when Jody and her husband, Alan, realized that Virginia Beach, a beautiful resort community, was missing fresh caramel corn. Determined to create a caramel corn more delicious than anything they had ever tasted, they made batch after batch, until the recipe was just right. Their motto was “Amazing or Bust.” After 53 tries they arrived at “Amazing”—Recipe 53 Caramel Corn! Jody’s still puts its popcorn through the same demanding process, to achieve amazing flavors. Recipe 53 Caramel Corn remains the company’s number one selling flavor!
Begun as a retail operation, Jody’s Popcorn has evolved into a popcorn manufacturer with a 25,000 square foot Popcorn Production Facility. Jody’s sells it popcorn in gift shops (including many hospital gift shops), gourmet stores, high-end hotels, grocery stores, garden centers, and entertainment establishments.

Jody's popcorn is gluten-free, whole grain, Kosher certified by the Orthodox Union, a Virginia Finest product, made with non-GMO popcorn kernels and free of preservatives. Most of the flavors are also free of artificial ingredients.
Jody’s Popcorn co-packs popcorn in large quantities for other retailers, resorts and theme parks. In addition, Jody’s provides custom labeled-popcorn in small quantities for small gift shops and event venues.
